Requirements:
- Spiritual: Camp Team assistant must be a born again believer desiring to embrace children in desperate need with the love of Christ, with the goal of seeing those children come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
- Education: Camp Team Assistant must be a high school Graduate over the age of 18.
- Mission Experience: Camp Team Assistant must have participated in previous short-term mission opportunities.
- Church Attendance: Camp Team Assistant must be in active attendance at their local church and have a recommendation by a pastor of their church.
- Availability: Camp of the Good Shepherd 2008 season runs from June 14th - Aug. 17th. Three 3 week sessions are available for application; Session 1 is June14th - July 6th , Session 2 is July 5 th - July 27th and Session 3 is July 26th - Aug. 17th. Please note which session you are applying for on the application. You may apply for more than one session.
Responsibilities :
- The CTA will assist in all physical service areas of camp operations – including but not limited to – kitchen and dish-room responsibilities, laundry service, lavatory service, general cleaning and maintenance of camp property.
- The CTA will assist volunteer teams when requested and the CTA has completed all other assigned tasks.
- The CTA will work under the supervision of President Deborah Marshall and HHMI National Staff.
Costs :
The Camp Team Assistant is responsible for covering the cost of the following:
- Airfare, approximately $1,200.00 - $1,500.00 for summer season.
- Purchasing Travel Insurance, approximately $100.00
- Transportation fee of $50.00
- Gathering 10 Camper Sponsorships at $50.00 each, indicating they have shared their ministry opportunities with others. Camper Sponsorship brochures will be provided to the Team Assistant.
- All meals and housing will be provided while working at the camp. The Team Assistant will pay for all personal items snacks, meals outside of Camp and souvenirs.
- The Team Assistant will pay for the last evening spent in Bucharest prior to leaving Romania . The cost is approximately $80.00 to cover hotel cost and meal.
