Each guest is invited to bring a package of new children’s underwear to be included in Christmas packages for children from our Village Bible Club Ministry. This summer at Camp of the Good Shepherd volunteers brought to my attention that many children at shower time had only one or at most two pair of underwear. At first I thought they had forgotten extra at home, but through often tearful conversation the children told that ‘no, this is all I have’. Both girls and boys in Romania wear the European style of bikini or speedo type underwear. If you are able to bring a pair or package with you to the fundraiser they will be hand carried by the Christmas team to Romania and delivered on your behalf! We are looking for both girls and boys all children’s sizes up to Adult small. Thank you for your consideration.
Do you have items or tickets or services you would like to donate for the Heart of Hope Silent or Live auction? We are actively procuring quality items for our guests to bid on – if you have something to contribute or know someone who does please contact either Jill Quiner or Debbie Marshall at jillquiner@comcast.net or marshall@pacifier.com or by phone at 503-645-0254 or 360-693-5417 Please look for your personal invitation in the mail soon!
The Blessing of a Fully Operational Commercial Kitchen! |

This summer the new kitchen at Camp of the Good Shepherd was fully operational from day one! With approximately 80 breakfasts, lunches, and dinners being served each day our cooks would like to express their gratefulness to all who provided funding at the 2007 Heart of Hope fundraiser to make this dream a reality! With four health inspections this year, we passed with flying colors due to the new conditions, which meet every health requirement. The 2009 fundraiser will focus on raising funds for the newly required enclosed bathrooms for campers and the sanitation filtration system. With your attendance and support we can accomplish this most basic of provisions to obtain our authorization for next summer! We look forward to seeing you October 23 rd. Yours in Partnership, Debbie and Your HHMI Board |
